This is the only photo I have ever found of "Old Blue" when it was owned and raced by Butch Leal, before it was sold to Tom Jacobson. The sponsor name on the back fender is Del Munson, the Chevy dealer in Pixley, CA...

  3. I sure as hell would like to know the background story to this picture. My thoughts are, that either this car is very special to her, or she has consumed a quart or two.

  4. Those cornbinders were not a high performance truck, it must have taken some highly unusual event to cause this.

That kid walking by the front fender looks like he left his swim trunks at home!

Cleverly hidden in the glove box, this 1940 GPS option was easy to use, but nearly impossible to re-fold along the original creases ....

Reminds me of a girl in High school in 1960. We called her "Cadillac".

  14. It also doesn't care what voltage is available.
I can remember that you could send a note to Esso or Texaco, that you were planning a trip to a specific place, and they would send you all the maps you needed, with the best route highlighted. All this for free in a neat plastic folder.
The last time I used the service was in 1970, when I was posted to the US as an exchange pilot for the USAF.

  15. Two feet of snow fell last weekend on Mt. Hood - just enough for two boys to turn their skis into rock skis.

Here is another shot of Butch's car. This is one he sent me to put on his web site.
