I really like the full race flathead with four deuces, and so do the onlookers! Now if we could just hear it run.......
Great vintage pictures! This one however isn't from the '50s. It belongs to Jack Carrol of the Burbank Choppers. It was probably taken at Bakersfield. Regardless of when it was taken, it is by far one of my favorite '32s.
I'm ADD when it comes to seeing random shots on the internet and often I start doing a little detective work on the source ,because , as the old saying goes, "where there's smoke, there's fire" And my criteria for an epic shot is backdrop, lines, rare speed parts, and a good looking woman.
Maybe a computer error, my screen is making some of those cars look high gloss. Probably photo shopped, I've read somewhere that none of them were.
My favorite of these is the middle top row. To me it is perfect. The stance is just right. I am not a fan of white walls so this fits the bill. I wonder what is under the hood, but then it really wouldn't matter much.
Post #10 looks like Bud Coons and Eric Rickman as the Dodge wagon and trailer in the background was part of the NHRA Drag Safari.
Nic, Yep ... but I never realized it until I was an adult. As a teenager, I thought he was anything but cool ... it was all of his hot rodder friends that I considered "cool". Coincidentally, Rich "Pure Hell" Guasco (also pictured in this Blog) was one of my father's friends that I idolized. Rich is 80 years old now ... but still the epitome of "cool"!
