Also got a '57 commemorative bank from the DRAGGINS CAR CLUB up here, celebrating their 40th anniversary, and I'm happy to say they are still out there getting it done today ....

  5. Just me, but I think this is a fun little mid week thread. As long as we keep it pre 1965 , and HAMB friendly, and if the Mods thinks its okay. I would say post away. If it gets deleted, you probably shouldn't have posted it. I do respect this form, and like the rules on here.{ Just me } but I do like the real Hot Rod threads the most. But the little ones, are one way that I can collect, the cars that I could never have, if they were real. But it's getting hard for me to remember, what I've already posted. Lol So here's some old tin Hot Rods, that I think fit the{ HAMB } as an example maybe, for on here. Ron... 092.jpg 088.jpg Ron...

  7. Here is a car I customized several years ago when I had some idle time. Always bugged me that Matchbox made their Willys Coupe with hood-off like a Phord so I fixed it with some epoxy and soda can aluminum.

  12. Bones, great old cast trucks. I really like stuff that's made for kids to play with. And cool that they survived. 20170815_165057.jpg Here's a couple old 58 Fords.

Funkhouser, where did you get the little Safeway store diorama? That is very cool!
I collect 1:18 almost solely, and that little store looks like about the right scale.
The wife worked there when we lived in CA and AZ, one of the largest grocery chains in the US of A.

Love the steel Safeway trucks too. Nice collection

  15. Cool Don, I remember as a kid at the local Safeway, It had a conveyor belt that took the groceries from the check out to your car. They went through a little door. Then a boy would put them in your car for you.very cool. Here's one more grocery getter.{ ramjet 1} I had to find it at a swap meet. But sometimes that stuff just finds me ha. ha. I will confirm the makes of the trucks and post next Tuesday along with some more fotos. Sure you can use the fotos but if you put them in your next best selling book, I want a piece of the action! :D

  18. Thanks, I will copy the photos but, sadly, they will not be going into my latest best seller(LOL). Actually, I have a friend (email) in Germany who has a collection of Matchbox, Corgi, etc, including tow trucks, circus trucks, etc. He will be very interested in these toys.

First time I had some issues.
Some of these are slush mold pieces and others are rubber. The stamped steel chrome roadster is from Germany just after WWII and features a clockspring motor that has a forward reverse and neutral shifter. The Mark II Continental is remote controlled(with a wire and D cells)and features steering and headlamps. The Model A mail truck is a 1930's Tootsietoy that came in a set of 3 vehicles.Unfortunately I don't have the other two. The 55 Pontiac convertible is missing a couple of passengers and only had one hubcap. I made a set of four out of the

  22. A man and his car. The Tucker 48. I liked the car, story and movie. I found an original add. I use it for a backdrop for the diecast, in my display case. 20170822_074747.jpg 20170822_073431.jpg 20170822_074014.jpg 20170822_075415.jpg
