When I came across the old sketch I based the above on, I also found this loose sketch.

This photo was taken in 1958. It was tucked into a magazine for safe keeping and forgotten. Here it is, found 59 years later in that same magazine. (Uh, not really.)

My good pals, from the No Name Cats rockabilly band, asked me if I could make a few scribbles for their brand new vinyl. Of course I said "yeaaaaah", it was really fun to do.

  9. Hey guys, great start.

I actually have something to contribute this week, a small colour pencil sketch.

Based on this great photo I found online, it was uncredited so if anyone knows who took it please let me know.

    Hello,

My granddaughter’s great grandfather once had a tractor that her daddy rode during summer visits. What is it that all great grand fathers think that kids like sitting on tractors is fun? The metal seat was hot from sitting out in the sun all day and it was a slow plodder like all tractors.

My dad took our family to his friend’s farm out in the “sticks,” and that tractor seat, as big as it was, became a hot seat torture for me when I was about 7 years old. That was something I will not forget... not only was it hot, but the tractor moved slower than those live, riding ponies at the county fair.

But, this current, hot rod version would make tending to those crops simple and easy. It would also make faster rows for those field plowing days. Even the farmer near Lions Dragstrip would have his rows plowed in record time. It included A/C for those hot So Cal days in the field.

This is a tractor I would have loved to sit in all day. Driving, while seated in it to the far reaches of that huge farm field would have been something pleasurable.

The streamlined tractor is a combination field plow, parts delivery van. Just change out the huge rear tires for the small ones and be “on the road again.” This parts van makes fast deliveries to those far out farms and backyard garages. (A stacked gear drive for the big wheel or let your imagination go…) Bonneville, perhaps?

A very welcomed version of a combo, "Sidewinder" tractor. (with sound no less) It makes me want to listen to this recent movie clip.

Now, this is a farmer’s tractor that would impress a little kid, no hot seat, no dust for allergies, coolness in many ways, and plenty of power !!! Maybe, after all of these years, sitting in the farmer's field watching the real Sidewinder make a run at Lions must have made a lasting impression on this little kid.

“A client expects often the delivery of materials yesterday for the order placed to the vendor today. The payment towards the products always on an uncertain tomorrow.” From somewhere on the internet or HAMB.
