    When I see photos of cars like this IFS Kurtis I wonder about just how well designed the suspension really was. Did things like bumpsteer figure into the design? Or was suspension travel limited by stiff torsion bars to the point where it didn't matter? Or maybe the skinny bias play tires were so hard and slick that suspension travel/body roll induced toe changes weren't much of a factor. I wonder just who at Kurtis did the actual design of the suspension on race cars like this one.

    Pretty simplistic by todays standards but I think you're right about the tires, those skinny rock hard tires would cover up a multitude of engineering sins. If you put todays 12+inch wide sticky tires on it would probably be undriveable. I'm reminded of the early Lotus cars. Hard to believe Colin Chapman had his fingerprints on this.......
