Thx for the pics, that's quite a shot of the Alley Cat Is the smoking done with? How did the new gear feel? How did it feel once you got it sorted out and tires burned in?

To answer that - there is a clone gasser group that put on a clone race at Greer on the same day as our finals. Moving to Shady Side which is like 15 minutes away will smack that shit down. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Pick a different date. They just recently picked the date so ......

No the smoking isn't gone. The motor is coming back apart. I met a guy that builds diesel tractor pulling engines at Lyons - we talked for a long time about the fact only the passenger side is doing it and he says in a case like that, he has the ring land cut for a bigger ring. He said he can cut my pistons and order the rings. I need to get the walls checked for wavy or out of round. This guy builds a LOT of engines. Not just book smarts or theory.

 

Few more random shots - this track was really nice - except the raised center - but you aren't supposed to use that part of the track - so I was told

Somebody was live streaming the event on FB. I saw your "cone killer" run and wondered what happened. Glad it wasn't bad.

 

SO I google mapped Shady Side to Greer and Union County Dragway to Greer and SS is about 8 miles closer!

 

Closer for me toooooo!!!

 

Wonder if its still available - that was the weirdest feeling track - sometimes it hooked and sometimes it didn't. Kept the Guardian Angels busy all day.

They had 1 of your lane changing runs from overhead view, I watched both on FB. Now if I can just find video of the conversation with the crew chief after the second one.

 

Man I don't know - we had about 5 guys going to pile into a motorhome. Then after spending 12 hours on the road and getting lost and getting the camper stuck doing a u-turn in a nucu-lar power plant ...... might stay home and pull a hemi out

Last night Jack comes through the neighborhood on his 'go cart' thing and I hear a clang clang clang. Pretty soon he comes up the driveway


So being the good mentor and all - I picked up a better piece o crap go cart at the swap for him a week or so back - good thing



He spent the evening swapping parts over while I took my go cart apart


This is the full sized vacuum pump that kept the smoke at bay in Lyons - time to get a real ring job with a torque plate - so down it goes again.






Caught this in time also - this was probably caused by all the 30W Non Detergent foolery.

 

Did jack get his new/old cart running in time to drive it home ?
