Im really glad Mel explained how the flag drop actually works. It seemed most of the folks left the gate super early and didnt understand that they were actually jumping.

I raced one of the bones cars, the dude left when she raised the flag??? I was like whaaat???

 

It was good to finally meet you too, car sounded really good too, bummed you broke your axle. see ya next year!

Thanks to all for the coverage of this stellar event. Pete phase 1 of this Coupe was amazing. I'm glad the axle event turned out to be an inconvenience rather than something more serious. You have great vision in Hotrod. Great to see so many of you Hambers together having fun and what a backdrop. Every time I see the pics it spurs a desire to be there but the pictures and stories bring it close to home and I'll take it.

Thanks Stogy, the car went very well with only the axle issue. I was def relieved that the wheel didn't end up in the crowd or do damage otherwise. I had to ratchetstrap the wheel to the opposite side of the wishbone on the ride home, it kept trying to pop off.

Iv parked the car for now and plan on bringing it to the gathering of the faithful this October, after that it comes apart again.

Got a pair of axles and some spiders,,,should have her up and running soon.

 

Pete, See of Speedway still sells the safety hub deal that keeps the wheel on when an axle brakes like yours did. Not a costly or hard to install item. Bob

Could you post pics of rear as your repairing it ? I like seeing thing's I've never worked on and how things differ.
