During the entire build the racer in me has wondered about traction with this thing. I appreciate the rules and period correctness more so but can't help but worry that their is some serious limitations here.

This car was never really meant to be a competitive racer . For me it is more of an exercise in building a car the way it would have been pieced together back in the day. Wheel base , tires and suspension or lack of are pretty accurate for cars that raced on the salt , and at board tracks from the late 20's through the early 40's.

Have you scaled the car to see how much it weighs?

 

Nope. It's light enough that one of my buddies picked up the back of it. I'd estimate 1000lb or so.
