It was a scorcher today !!! 94 in the shade. I think the heat didn't help sales.

    Hey OldP,
Fabulous photos and coverage. Was this red 40 Ford Sedan Delivery for sale? 94 is not too bad for being in Pomona in late June. It was 84 at the coastal Orange County shore during the day. In the morning, it was 71 in Carlsbad.
    Stay cool up there...

I have spent more than a few hot Saturdays at the old Pomona swap meet when it was baking on that asphalt. Sunday is going to be worse as the whole western states climb toward record highs. We are supposed to have a repeat of the 120's in June from years ago by about Wednesday.

Thank you for sharing the pics. Would love to trade mowing the lawn here in CT to go check out that inventory.

Nice pics. I think most of the action was in the swap meet area today. Not a lot of roadsters and such in the show area. Even BLDG 4 was kind of empty compared to what it has been over the years. Just not a lot of people.

This year they let the swap meet buyers in the west gate so they could park near the swap meet and not need to drag their purchases over a 1/4 mile to the far away parking lot. I'd like to know the ticket count for the swap gate vs the show gate. Compared to the Grand National. they only had one exhibit hall open.

If I never see another generic 32 roadster with a small block Chevy I can die a happy man.

Late in the day I was headed out so I stopped by to wish Gene Winfield happy 90th. He is like Jack LaLanne, never ages. He brought his iconic custom.

Interesting Kustom style build. It looks like it was in the movie CARS. So hot it melted his steering wheel! ;) 2017-LARS (134).jpg 2017-LARS (135).jpg 2017-LARS (136).jpg

    Interesting levers. Maybe they engage the extra motor? 2017-LARS (117).jpg 2017-LARS (118).jpg 2017-LARS (119).jpg 2017-LARS (120).jpg 2017-LARS (121).jpg

    cool stuff, thanks for posting...

  23. We got in about 8am, the line in was OK right before the specialty car line got big. Kind of half baked, they did charge a little more but didnt check anything (ice chest) like people worried about, I only saw security hassling some alcoholics carrying ice chest full of booze while drinking beers in cozies or selling water.

Seemed like less vendors in the swap and less specialty cars in the goodguys section.

overall had fun, found some parts.

some of my pics here, I just mostly contribute to this IG

Thanks for posting the photos! Looks like a great turn out of cars in the swap meet. I've been out there twice, this fall will be 48 years in a row at Hershey the one thing that just jumped out at me is the huge amount of space that is out there and no Motorhomes taking up 2-3 spots, and very few enclosed trailers. Abe,
Do you collect MB cars and trucks from the 60's? If so, I might have some stuff you'd be interested in...
