Seeing the Sam Barris Buick in person was a giant treat! The shots looking down from the roof on it are spectacular.

Thanks for all the great photos. Does this car belong to a HAMB member?

Looking at possibly going to the 2018 Revival.

Its a 3 day drive both ways, hence a vacation of sorts.
Question of the day: which hotel do most stay at?

Thank you, that I know however where do most stay as I noticed some of the early photos were taken at a few hotels with LaQuinta in the background. Is the drive-in Show on Saturday close by?

The '52 is only a mild custom, not a full custom as most are at this show, so hopefully will be acceptable.
(Lowered, Shaved, nosed, decked, two piece hood welded into one piece, one piece Olds windshield, extra teeth in the grille, California rear bumper, wide whites with baby moons on black steelies, Chev V8 with TH400, leather interior, tilt wheel, etc, and got rid of all the billet)

If it doesn't get accepted, you can park next to mine across the street on Saturday. Either way, you will enjoy this show. Seeing the cars is great, but meeting all the people is why I like this show.

I can look at old customs for hours on end. They get a lot of grief when viewed by todays crowd because they don't understand the times customs were built in. For example, todays crowd often hate the dual headlights on customs, but fail to realize that was REAL forward looking. Dual headlights were ILLEGAL in some states until 1958! Some 57 Chrysler products had two sets of headlights (duals and singles) shipped with the new cars to the dealer. Duals were very rare in the early days of customs . Knowing a bit of automotive history helps us understand early customs.

In 1958, you could buy a dual headlight conversion kit for your 57 Chevy. I don`t know how many were sold thou.

And JC Penny's sold dual quad conversions for '57 Fords too!

Just got off the phone with Kevin, Custom Car Revival, and the '52 has been accepted into the show.

Now to start the planning for the 2000 mile trip to Indianapolis, and not via Chicago.

    Update:
Did quick mapquest route planner which indicates 4 days to get there.
Those are 7.5 hour drives on average, not including gas breaks, food breaks and other breaks.
