I have a set of these tail lights. Will give them to my brother in law for his 33 5 window if he will use them. Just aren't sure how it would look under the trunk lid. Is the angle about the same? We are not close enough to take them over to judge that way. So wondered if anyone has done this before. I have not seen it done. But think it might look pretty cool. I'd vote NO! Ya got better choices. Mostly from the same time period. Original taillights, 37 Ford, 50 Pontiac style, and etc.
They wouldn't work very well, you would have flip them upside down plus they have left-right taper also. Each one of the four taillights is slightly different. There is a left outer and left inner, right inner and right outer. This is a picture of my 40willys with vette taillights. They are mounted with a slight twist to fit the body contours better. The original builders installed them in the 60's so I am not going to change them but there probably was better choices.
I have to agree with all the previous reply's,there are many more taillights that are proven over & over to look good on 33/34 Fords. Remember the Mustang taillights that was popular but thank goodness short lived back in the 70's,the Vette taillights might work well on some cars but not the 33/34 Ford. HRP
Never say never again...? (images from a google image search) The only thing I'd change on this one is the name on the title. Yes, that includes the Vette lights, but look how many other cues to a period exist on it. As a generic use because you can? Maybe not. Here? Best choice IMO. Your results may vary, see your retailer for details, blah, blah, blah...
Thanks, I was having a hard time visualizing it. Even though we were thinking further apart than these. I am not a fan of them either. I took them off of a 78 Jeep CJ5 because they were ugly as sin on that. Anyone want some cheap tail lights? Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'll go on record as saying, "use 'em but move them in 2s outboard." If you like 'em use them. Don't have a narrow vision like some HAMBERS. Remember, everything was initially tried by one individual. ...just my $.02
I think I've seen a set used in a rolled rear pan that was made at an angle so the lights were positioned correctly.....tucked under ....looked fine
