I've been busy! Summer is getting into full-swing...the BBQs, 3-day weekends, camping trips etc. seem to be cutting into my precious steam-car-development time. I've made progress on designs for the body and chain guards, I'll post photos and info on that next week. I've taken the car to a couple car shows so far and it's always a big hit. I guess people don't see things like this very often. Here's a clip of me leaving the "Inliners" car show in Minden NV. Really nice guys and gals, cool cars too. When you limit a show to only in-line engines you tend to see some weird stuff.

    Wafflemaster,
This build is soooo cool! I have been following since I stumbled across it. I love steam, probably because my dad is so into steam engines. He was chief engineer in the Merchant Marines and the Navy, and always had stories about steam.
I can't wait to see what happens next. The cyclops look is cool as well!

One of the fun aspects of steam is the ability to find and try different tone whistles. In my experience the three tone chime whistles are the most pleasing to use, not too loud and very melodic depending on the amount of steam applied. You may have 3 or 4 on your shelf before you find the one that is "just right".

Her is a link to the sound of the whistle I finally settled on for my steam tractor and some pretty nice stack music too!.

Or do what I wound up doing because I couldn't fine one I liked, build one.
Here are my notes for the whistle I built. They are only around 50 bucks to build and can make them any note you want. I made this deep tone whistle for my steam powered tugboat.

Apologies, I know this is way off topic but it does apply to the subject. Moderators feel free to remove if necessary.

These are some of the near current pics from links to @wafflemaster's other media sites. I like a lot of you have been following this vintage style build with interest. He has had some constructive criticism and technical suggestion and alot of positive thoughts. Perhaps he will chime in because that's the way it is around here. So many people around here have incredible talent and this vehicle in reference to the Hamb specific is a place where they can be shared. So @wafflemaster there is a lot of us who are interested...;)

I haven't completely followed this build but this thing is running steering and is progressing to full skinning with a look of the early 1900's when so many were vying for the motorizing nations interest and money.

  22. Just read the entire thread, so much work and thought into what you want it to look like and great build skills. Like others, I would like to see the finished car...

Way to go. Looks great. Im glad he finished it. Maybe hell chime back in sometime and give us more info. Probably not though because of everyone that said it wouldn't work.

  28. Thanks for the pics Stogy and rjones35. I was wondering how things were going with the build.
