I would like to know as well. Are they OK with the gravity feed?

I threw this one together for the Rattletrap eighth mile beach sprints at Crowdy head in Australia. Basically a stocker chassis and running gear, single Stromberg 48at the moment. The body is a sneaky glass one until I have collected enough steel panels.[IMG]

Here's my 29 built by Kevin Gill and his son! Here's my Riley and Halibrand QC I want to use on it.

Here's the engine in the roadster in post #27. Just got a Weber32/36 set up for my B engine with the CRAGAR. Considerable difference in the manifold and linkage design and, of course, an increase in price!

Here is what my engine ended up looking like when I finished it.
I drove it to a car show and it runs fantastic.
I bent up some 3/8" round stock and reworked the louvers on the hood for the velocity stocks to come through.

  10. Here is mine. Diamond block, High Compression head, FSI ignition, Balanced crank, 3/4 race cam. No current pics. Since this pic the distributor and wires were changed, and back carb rebuilt. I have rebuild the carbs along with smaller jets. With that it is still too much for it. Hunting for a single downdraft intake. KIMG0213.jpg KIMG0349.jpg

  11. Looks great. Are the carbs 97 or 81? I hate to admit it but I was considering running 3 twos for show and blocking off the front and back ones.

Denis what adapter are you using on that weber for the air cleaner? That's the only complaint I have about the Weber is the air cleaner looks horrible. I do like the small round one you got up on there

  14. Bob,

That is exactly what I have in mind. Who made it? Who sells it? Are you running all 3 carbs? I already have a "Thomas" head and side plate.

  15. That was Bill Romain from Cobleskill N.Y.
Bill took me a ride around the half mile dirt track on the Cobleskill fairgrounds when I was about 15 or 16!

Charlie. Its a Thomas. I purchased it from Snyders model A parts in Ohio. Uncle Max did me up 3 original Stromberg 81's for it. I told him what I was putting them on. He is an ace. He is excellent. They came back just like brand new ones. I am running just the middle one . But it will run on all three. Hope to talk to you again Charlie. Bob......

  18. Bob,
Are there any problems with hood clearance? If it fits yours I should be OK since mine is a '31.

  23. Yeah they are 97s. I happened into a guy this weekend that has an old single downdraft intake and he's willing to trade me intakes. It won't look as neat with a single carb, but I am excited to see how it changes how it runs and drives. Supposed to swap these in a week, so... Dang I just realized that engine pic was before I rebuilt the back carb and cleaned up the ignition. Hmmm... Guess i'll snap a current one. After a bunch of tuning, and a few miles on it. The red isn't as bright and shiny anymore, carbs seep so it has that going for it. As of now it has a new aluminum pressurized radiator too (wasn't willing to pay up for a recore locally). The plug wires are home terminated but uses the electronic ignition compatible braided cloth wire from Brillman. Here we go. KIMG0457.jpg KIMG0456.jpg

Not proper hot rods, but my grandfather built these speedsters about 10 years ago, both 4 bangers

Some years ago we took the Ford to the track

Personally i always wanted to build a Model T roadster on a Model A frame with a Willys 4 banger (i actually have the engine and the frame)
