    I'd finish the A. Maybe two Hemi's, side-by-side.

I think I remember seeing it in a medium blue metallic paint a long time ago. I had the image in my head before opening the thread.

Any other tail light exist with the basic shape of a '60 Cadillac, but smaller proportions ? Surely the Cad' lights are too big to match the tunnels in that Model A pan. Anyone ??

  9. The front end has changed, it had a 49 Mercury hood originally

Think it might be a Barris creation.....built sometime after Sam had passed.

I though that was the only way that they came.

  16. I still don't have photos of the car outside the shed where it's been stored, but I do have more information on the car now. It was in an issue of Car Craft, January 1964. We think the car was called 'The Broad'.

Does anyone know of the car or have any more information on it.

  20. That Model A is gnarly!!!

  21. All model A coupes are 5 windows. Specifying it as a 5 window is redundant.;)

(And don't start about the sports coupe, that's a different animal)

Definitely outside the box! It does look familiar. I agree a deep blue with some metal flake. I must admit I like the newer hood better, it fits the flatter lines of the A.

Glad it's saved just be nice to see it brought back.

I hope that these are not customer's cars waiting for their turn to be, "in shop".

  27. No, this is his backyard collection of cars...he buys projects like this and keeps them or does some work on them and sells them.

Part of me wants to like it but i just can't get there.

  29. I too like the "later" hood arrangement better (or hate it less) ;). I agree with those who have dated the build in the early 60's. The top scoop is reminiscent of a '58 Impala, so I'm leaning toward the builder's intent to use those '58 Chevy tail lights as well. I really don't care for the direction in which 60's rods/customs went, but I'd like to see this one finished just because it's a time capsule of what was going on at that time. And you'd definitely have the only one on your block like that.

Like it or not, it's a good example of what was going on at the time. Whoever built it showed a great deal of creativity, regardless of how you assess his taste.
