A milestone, maybe not, but it feels like one to me. I just got into the rolling chassis stage. I have had several classic cars in the past, but this is my first ground up and every aspect is a new learning experience. The members of the H.A.M.B have played an instrumental part in my success thus far. I've had questions about transmissions, vintage 9" rears, rod ends, suspension geometry, crossmember tubing, and rod ends. Some believe that all answers are just a Google or a H.A.M.B. search away, but I can tell you that is not the norm, especially for the "novice". Information is often incomplete or conflicting. So. Hat's of to you fellow H.A.M.B.ers, you have helped me get this far! Sent from my SM-G935T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
You asked and received answers but by the looks of your shop and particularly the frame jig it is plain to see that you are also a serious enthusiast and have a plan to follow. Well played!
Thanks for the kind words guys. As for the shop, I assure you, 90% of the time it doesn't look like this. I will clean it up when it's time to take a few photos or when it starts getting hard to find the tools. Usually looks like a bomb went off in there. I'm not sure, can one skip right to the serious enthusiast category? I do TRY to plan with lists and looking ahead tho. To be honest I'm mostly flying by the seat of my pants. You guys have saved me from a lot if trial and error. Thanks for replying, Fordors. Jeff Sent from my SM-G935T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thank, steinauge. The painted floor is the key, it makes it so easy to sweep. I used the Rustoleum brand of 2 part floor paint (not the smelly industrial stuff, more consumer type). It's about 13 yrs. old now and holding up well. I have to admit tho, it has been fully hands and knees scrubbed and waxed twice. One thing I would do differently is to pony up for the clear top coat. As it has aged it has gained a slight degree of porosity. Jeff Sent from my SM-G935T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
