Zoe explains that XXL grin on your face all weekend! It was great seeing the Home Grown "57 in person!

Sorry I missed all the fun !! Ok though, we took the "W" and the hardware Friday night at Atlanta in the 53 Chevy Wagon. Still really missed the Gasser action. Good luck to you with the change to C this season ! D was all you for a while !

Unless that car has about 600 lbs. of weight in the car it had to be light for the class. I helped a guy run a 57 door post car with a big block and it weighed just shy of 3200 lbs. He crossed the scales with him in it at 3410. All steel except for the hood and no front bumper. 427 aluminum heads tunnel ram and a B&J
    trans.
Anyone remember the Shamrock Special out of Miami, Fl. ? Ran in the 70's.
396 bored out to 4 something @ 10 lbs per cube is over 4000 lbs.

We were obviously light, and cars are running under the weight brake now so we just moved up to C.

Some pictures from Knoxville and a little carnage. Car ran fastest it ever has this weekend, and barely lost to the eventual winner Jared Bailey (.008) at the finish line. Got it home and tore the rear end apart to change gear ratios, and the pinion was on it's last leg. Not sure how it went 1.39 in the 60ft like that. Got a new lower ratio gear going in it this week, hopefully do some testing this weekend. IMG_7513.PNG IMG_7457.JPG IMG_7470.JPG IMG_7496.JPG IMG_7498.JPG IMG_7511.JPG

Whoa that is messed up. Good thing you caught it in time or it could have made a big boom soon enough.

Good catch on the rear gears. Lucky didn't tear something up. Were those street gears or drag gears ?

It was a used street gear. I've got a brand new pro gear going in it now.

Me and Dad are gonna build him a SEG car! He picked up this 55 Chevy 150 post car the other day. It's a pretty solid car, local car it's whole life. Stock frame, except we're gonna put a front snout on it. And it's gonna have coils and ladder bars in the rear. Got a jerico to put in it, and got a Dana 60 housing for it. It's gonna be a legal weight, small block powered D gas car with max legal engine set back. Probably gonna be silver with purple lace panels, and named "High, Wide, and Handsome". Once we start on the car I'll start it's own build thread on here.

The cage has s little surface rust, looks worse in pics. The cage is just tacked, we're gonna move a few bars around, like the door bars are a little high, and the cross bar is a little low. But it's a chromoly chassis engineering 10 point cage.

That's going to be neat ! I have a blast racing with my Son. I found out the hard way that racing gets in the way of building a new car ! I got a lot done on mine when racing was over last season. Had a few problems with breakage this year and slowed the progress on the Gasser. I enjoy stomping the loud pedal so it's hard to not race. May be your Dad and I will get to line up soon. Looking forward to watching your build !

Got the gear set up and it helped the car a lot. My first gear I ever set up held this weekend at Lyons Indiana! We made it down to the semis in C gas, I treed Doug Dobbins, but he barely came back around me on the other end. We're getting faster each race, can't wait for Clay City!

Great job ! Tightening that pinion nut under the car is a lot of fun on jack stands.

Yeah it was on jack stands and up as high as it would go, just needed about 3" more head room and it would have been perfect.

I bought a 12 foot 2x12 and cut it into 12"x12" sections and screwed them together. Now I can stack them and put my jack stands on them and make taller jack stands safely.

IMG_8678.JPG IMG_8679.JPG IMG_8683.JPG Well dad was gonna build a 55 chevy with a small block for D gas, but I ended up finding him this 51 Anglia in Detroit and I traded some big block parts I had laying around and we drug it home this weekend. This is gonna be a lightweight C Gas car. Fuel injected 301ci Small block chevy with a Jericho and a Dana 60.
