Bobby Langley at Tulsa. This picture was a centerfold in one of the magazines and is transposed. Guess the editor was on vacation that day.

Good enough I will be posting a bunch more but fun time is here on saturday night and I have more enticing plans at one of my friends bars that is having an anniversary party so I may not be in any shape to listen to the LOUD CLICKING of my computer keyboard keys until mid afternoon LOL. :)

If you look back far enough I have posted that same Healy before I think in the pits but it's been awhile and the master of the universe hasn't caught it yet. :)

[Not to get off thread to far, but does anyone have any other pictures of this car in these colours.]

By brother and Bob Downey were good friends so I've collected some photos of this car. Here are some of the color pics.

Hey Kev these are great shots ..I'm the dark hair kid on the fence just above the headlights in the photo of Beswick's Tempest . I was 16 at the AHRA Winternationals. That was the all time best race I have ever been at!! All the big name crazy match race cars were there racing from 9:00am till 10:00 pm.

This is the former Hayden Proffit Corvair that was mostly steel bodied. Randy purchased the car in 1967 and ran it through 1968 when the Pisano Corvair plowed into him at Irwindale in 1968. He replaced it witht he first of his Novas.

Vic King of Temple City, Ca running a four cylinder Hispano Suiza aircraft motor. The car ran in the low 12's at the time and was campaigned until as late as 1977 although by then it had a Model B Ford block with a Gemsa overhead conversion.

Don Zabel and Bruce Robinson's roadster, front, Bob Routhenwaite's coupe behind, Saugus 1951.

Masters and Richter at Half Moon Bay, Bob Haines rolled this car when the chute failed, and they replaced it with the Champion Speed Shop chassis, with their Chrysler.

Tony Nancy's old roadster that ran the Sparks & Bonney blown flathead, owned at this time by Jim Seaton, ran a Potvin-blown Olds, at San Luis Obispo.

Even the big guys flat-towed, here is the Maz crew changing from towing to racing tires...Riverside

The blown Chrysler in Don Montgomery's deuce coupe, I am guessing that this is the first top-mounted blown Chrysler to run a Gilmer belt.

This car would later get a Chevy engine, I saw it run at Henderson NV in mid-'59.

I am posting these pictures to keep my mind focused. I lost my wife of 49 years on Saturday after her long struggle with Parkinson's. I am grieving her loss, but this keeps my attention from my grief for a while at least.
