Ya gotta have a bit of vision and imagination. I see a couple of potential gasser wagons and a few that would make slick semi custom cruisers in the batch. With that stretched out Chrysler many door a guy would be the designated driver for the whole club when they went out to dinner and adult beverages at a rod trot.

    Yeah... burn .

  10. Tell that to my pal and fellow Hamber Henry Dana,he probable is unaware wagons can't be traditional hot rods. HRP

That Poncho. upholstery probably lasted this long due to the lead in the vinyl.

Starting around 1960, all but the cheapest Pontiacs use a vinyl they called "Morrokhide" (sp?).
It has a reputation for wearing like iron ....

Yep, very close. It is Morrokide vinyl and is in the polyvinyl chloride family. PCV pipe sound familiar?

  19. Here are a bunch of wagons that are sitting and rotting. All these photos were from the web. Most are similar to my '53 wagon.

Definitely somewhere down around Los Osos. Tried to do a Google Map search but came up empty. Maybe is gone by now?

Seams like a perfect resting spot for that Poncho...the Morrokide interior looking like new with the Morrow Bay rock looming in the distance ;)

  29. I found driving the hot rods is the best way to hear about an old car. When I stop for gas in the nomad, someone will tell me where there's an old wagon just like it. Here's a few I've found that can be had, and cheap too. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]
