I have been a big fan of Lake Modified T's, and Track Nose T Roadsters for ever. There is one in particular I am crazy about, and have lost my copy of Rod & Custom that it was featured in. After spending a little time on the internet this morning, I now have another copy on the way. Just thought I'd ask for input from the rest of you guys, about your favorites, and would love to see any all the way up to 1929. I know the T stopped at 1927, but I like the 28 & 29 A modifieds also. Show us your favorites. Here are some of mine. The orange one is my favorite.

I love them too. I keep constantly looking for parts to make them out of. I have two going now that are Modified/Track inspired if not purely either. Most of my build ideas lean towards that configuration.

  4. and you can make a modified from about anything. I cut 6 inches from the middle of this 31 chevy pickup cab and made back corners from the sides of a 40 chevy hood, turned on end with a 50 chevy door skin as a back panel. It was skinny so I used a 250 chevy inline engine/5 speed. I'd like to build another one. scan0040.jpg scan0039.jpg

That's one of the great things about them. You can build one out of cast offs and actually end up with something GREAT on a beer can budget!

  8. I might be a little partial to this one. I was influenced to some degree by Tom Prufer's Black Ford/Capri V6 powered track roadster.

I have been in love with the Bo Jones car from the time the magazine came out. I scanned the article and have the pictures in the garage. I have some of the parts gathered but it's a someday project.

My preference is usually not modified or track style but this one really does it for me. The quality of the build is amazing for the time period and it all works together just beautifully.

A few shots of the Ray Zarick built (Model T Shop) track roadster.
    It has fantastic detailing! 1926_Ford_ModelTModifiedTiffanyRaceCar_177ci_22.5HP_4Cylinder_FrontView.jpg DSC04986.JPG DSC04983.JPG DSC04989.JPG DSC04721.JPG DSC04982.JPG DSC04980.JPG

It is one sweet ride, I've seen this one on a page before and loved the details of it. The only modification I would do to it, would be add a windshield.

Lots of fakery on show cars. They don't really need to be functional, just cool to look at. Most folks wouldn't know the difference.

  19. I really dislike the modern take on modifieds with the cartoon proportions.

    I prefer the 30s and 40s versions...

Here is a picture of one built by one of our members on here, Turbo 26T. Very nice car, and super nice gentleman. I fell in love with his avatar, and had to send him a PM to compliment him on it. 2654.jpg

Speaking of cartoon cars, here's my real Zipper and the late Bob McCoy's cartoon of my car

Here is my "fauxbanger". Just now roadtesting after nearly 5 years of work. Just a few (stupid) bugs to work out before road tripping. If I get ambitious I may post a build thread.
