Projects Converting a 1934 Ford Sedan to a 3 window coupe

Based on the other builds you've posted here this will be great to watch. Bob

 

Why? Seems like you could find someone to trade bodies. There are folks looking for sedans. But the nice thing is you can do what you want....be watching.

I know this one is a mix of parts and is more '32 than 33/34 but was definitely built with 33/34 Tudor sedan doors and some sedan roof pieces. I haven't found a thread on it but if there is one I'd love to see where all the cuts were made.



And this is where I left off on my 33 4 door sedan to coupe project, I found some workable quarters to use but now I might have a line on a cleaner '34 sedan body so I might upgrade and sell this project off, not sure yet.

I'd be interested in that for sure.

 

The '34 would get the same coupe conversion treatment, it's just a bit nicer body to start with, and even if I do get it, I'll tidy up this '33 and get it into one piece before I sell it off.

I'd be interested in hours, but even more so where all the cuts are and any measurements you can share. I think the Tudor conversion will be more work than the 4 door to 5 window but should be well worth the effort.

And if there's any sedan fans out there who'd like to trade me a coupe body as was suggested before the '34 gets cut up, I'm here! Seems a little unlikely though.

I'll be posting everything picture wise ,just like the 32 sedan lakester a while ago.
First off ,cleaning up the body before we get to the conversion.

 

I'm following this thread, am also interested in cut-location, & how the rear qtrs get done - esp if you don't use oem or repops. (Thinking of future project, for which there are virtually NO coup/roadster/cabriolet rear qtrs).

We will be making what we don't have from scratch. We could buy SAR rear quarter panels,decklid etc but that wouldn't do us any benefit for phase 2 as we would still need jigs. So we might as well make them in the first place.
We do have a line on an original un chopped 3 window to pattern off, hoping this comes off.

I made a closed cab pickup from a 34 Tudor to have the swoopy passenger style cab ,fenders and grille . Is always fun to watch someone do something similar.

Been there done that. A lot of work but rewarding.
