Well I have been planning on it for years but it looks like this year is the year we get to come and hang out with you maniacs.
I am hoping to camp on site is that possible?
    Are there showers there?

    35 spline axles,spool,Daytona pinion support,forged yoke with 1350 U-joints,and a 3.50 rear gear.
With the 3.50 1st gear in the trans,it works out to be almost exactly the same gearing as running a 2.78 1st gear Toploader and a 4.56 ring and pinion.
When we run out the back door in 4th,which has that funky 1.33 ratio,it acts like it has a 4.66 gear in it.

That's all the math I'm doing for the rest of the year. lol

Camping on site is allowed. There is only one shower for men and one for women. I was up at 6 on Saturday last year and still had about four guys ahead of me, by the time I got to shower there were probably 10-12 in line.

There also is camping at Lowden State Park. It's just a few miles south of the drag strip. In addition to camp sites, there are some cabins.

About 25 - 30 miles away is White Pines State Park. There is camping there, too.

I will probably bring a bunch of 50s thru early 70s car magazines to sell so I will probably just stay at the track

Highly recommend staying at the track.. Excellent fellowship amongst likeminded gearheads.. I set my alarm and showered in the middle of the night, never waited in line. Folks are grilling, picking guitars, bench racing, etc.. I almost like the evenings better than the racing..

We camped last year. Plan on it again this year! We meet some nice folks and they actually gave Carly some pointers! Great bunch of people willing to help out in any way possible! I was unsure of what to expect when we came down last year. I didn't know how people would react to a 15 year old girl who wanted to build and race a period correct gasser. We were welcomed with open arms! All of the Meltdown guys were excited to see my daughter and made us feel like part of a family! THANK YOU guys for that! We can not wait to get back down there! Lil II Sassy is now lettered and ready to run! I will post some pics later this weekend...I am under STRICT orders from Carly and my wife not to post any until after we get to the Dells show this weekend. (the big reveal!!!)

And maybe we'll put Marc in the Okie Doker this year,so everyone can see that it's actually an 8 second car, once you remove Jeff's 2 second reaction times from the equation...;) lol

2 second reaction time? maybe you should take a look at my time slips from last Friday night...

Actually, I will just let you see it live in July...While you are still praying that the rear-end doesn't rip out of your car when you launch it, you will just see a red flash disappear into the distance...

And just to avoid any other of your excuses, remember that we run a sportsman tree...just like they did in 1966.
