Hot Rods Buick version of the Nomad

Went 4 dr HT instead of 2 dr. At the NY auto show it was called Aster. Not sure what the production name was. Olds was also a 4 dr but was named Holiday. Sweet wagons for sure.

 

Pontiac built the safari and it actually came in a 2 door in '55, '56 and '57

Buick and Olds both made 4-door hardtop wagons in 1957 and 1958. There is interesting history with these cars. The manufacturers sent 4-door Hardtops (not wagons) to the Iona facitily where the tops were cut off and they were converted to wagons.

Absolutely no comparison between the Caballero and the 56 Safari. Caballero wins hands down.

Nawww !!! Safari all the way. Safari was also a 4 door machine. Saw a nice one in the auctions at Carlise yesterday.

Only two door hardtop wagon built was the Mercury 57,58,59.

They are ALL beautiful cars but i have always been partial to the 55 56 and 57 Chev Nomad wagon and of course my own 74 Chev Caprice Estate wagon. Cheers. George
