Funny!Just threw the transmission on top of the hood! It is a 4 door so who cares, right?

  6. That's a '41 as indicated by the wide hood chrome and the rectangular Ford emblems. The '40 and '41 big trucks carried over '38-'39 front fenders, so the headlights and headlight stands will fit '38-'39 trucks. The headlight stands have little oval parking lights in them (which are '38-'40 car interior lights with a glass lens instead of plastic). The headlights are sealed beam from the factory, while '38-'39 truck headlights are the same as '35 car and are bulb and reflector with removable lens rather than sealed beam.

Looks more like they're keeping it for a storage shelf. Gotta keep those oil filters off the ground! LOL

I was 12-13 went for a stroll around my aunt's house in the bush and came across an old abandoned saw mill. The saw motor was model T and on the ground around it I found the crossmembers and springs. As I walked further I came to a place completely grown in with trees, so many you felt like an ant in grass, I came upon 3 old cars in a swampy area one was 38 ford sedan cut up and pilfered for sheet metal the other I don't remember but one was a '36 Ford 3 W coupe!!! upside down and covered with brush painted graffiti like "roach coach express" and "ass gas or grass" etc. The owner of the property was upset I was trespassing at first but when I explained I was interested in the cars he was more than happy to see them go! of course I planned and conceived every possible way a 12 yr old could to figure how to get the car turned right side up and cut about two miles of brush and tightly packed, 20 ft tall trees... even if I had I would've had nowhere to put it and I lived hundreds of miles away ....the second one was also a '36 3 W, my uncle told me a story of how it had belonged to the rich son of an equipment company owner. After hot rodding it around for a while, (for kicks) he hooked it to a massive crane and dropped it down a 200 ft gulley. I heard the story and went looking for it and found it 3/4s buried under rubble from the hill exactly like he said..... but I would have needed another crane to get it out of there....still weep a bit when I think of them:( given the type of environment they were in 35 years ago they are guaranteed completely rotted away now
*not actual car (it was upside down)

  19. That oil filter collection on the roof impresses me. The oil draining out of them prevents rust. And ya never know when ya might get poor and need to use them.

  22. I did a little spring road trip yesterday. And I spotted this yard art. Sitting and rotting. 20170414_153309.jpg 20170414_153327.jpg 20170414_152214.jpg

I would take the Healey in a heartbeat.

  26. Unfortunately, the Healey is not for sale. I don't know why the owner lets the body shop leave it out there for so long. You can see daylight through the tops of the front fenders, now.

  27. The owner and the dog were in the yard, or that sign would have worked. lol A nice guy, and had a cool 39 Ford coupe in his garage too. Ron...
