  1. FAARK ME!

That rig weighs 1600 pounds. I know this because a Messerschmitt kr200 weighs 800 pounds and a hemi weighs 800 pounds. So there you go - simple math - which is the only kind I know.

Now, its still fugly - that's the bad news. The good news, it would not be visible for very long ZOOM!

When I was a kid, my neighbor across the street fired up his Harley Electra Glide every morning at 5:00am headed of to work at the Ford plant in Milpitas. He worked there until it closed in the '80s, then moved to somewhere in the deep south and worked at another Ford plant for 3 years until he could retire with a full pension. He then returned to his house across the street and started working at the GM plant (now New United Motors) making GEOs and Toyotas.

  6. good run, Bomb!
a shame that the 55 Olds 88 Delta didn`t make it to production, would have been a nice bit more distinguished choice to the bird and corvette. a nice, well proportioned sports coupe.

  7. an interesting shot, showing the shortly built Herreshoff cars, they were built in Detroit between 1909 - 1914. in the background there is Kissel to read, another orphan automobile. a timewindow into a long gone era....

I've seen this numerous times, I always think it's just about to slide off to the right. I've never seen it with the caption before, though. Mart.

Hartung's began as a locksmith and gunsmith business by Gottfried Hartung in 1888. This photo by G.D. Fronabarger shows a later building, built in 1900, that was taken during the Cape Girardeau Sesquicentennial celebration in 1956.

Gottfried Hartung's son, William C. Hartung, owned the locksmith shop located at 600 Broadway until it moved to 240 N. Frederick St. in February 1965.
