  4. I like all old Fords and have owned nearly every year from 28-48. 1941 is one of my favorites, although a lot of people hate them. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, this car was very ugly when I first bought it. I am making this car nice to my standards, don't really care what anyone else thinks.

  5. Beautiful day today, got the car out and drove up and down the street a little to make sure the front end felt OK after finishing the dropped axle install. Everything felt fine, it's heading to get upholstery next week

Congratulations . It was nice to see that the satin shined away. The car is in great hands.

  14. Someone would have to try really hard to think that car is ugly. Like being disgusted as you are kissing Sophia Loren when she was 30.

    That car is awesome.

I would have to say that the car looks great and that the mechanical improvements were required. But what the other guy had, look good too. In fact if he did not take care of it in the way he did, you might find that you would have more work than you did. I say to each his own, flat black with red wheels or deep gloss with matching wheels, it is all in what you want.

my 42 is 100% stock. Seems easy enough to lower! Did you have to change any steering stuff? 16.jpg

  20. You will have to alter the steering arms, or cut them off and buy aftermarket arms. I also had to shorten the pan arm bar 1/2", and I had a new drag link made that takes a thread in tie rod end on the spindle side (original was one piece), mainly because mine needed shortened and was worn out anyways. I re-tapered the drag link hole on the spindle so that the drag link goes up from the bottom, as the drag link hit the wishbone in the turn, putting it on the bottom gave it clearance.

I've put a lot of dropped axles in early Fords, and aside from the pan arm bar, it was all pretty much strait forward like the earlier years. Takes a little modifying but nothing overly complicated

Your car is/was NEVER ugly, it just called out to you for a little TLC.
Now wanna talk UGLY, oohWEE, try mine the PQQR thing(1951 Henry J)
now that's UGLY.... but and that is a BIG BUT... on the scale of ugly,
the cars some think as such, seem to go back around toward GQQD LQQKin .
    I like your un-ugly car.

  25. Just a random, neat picture of the 46 at the upholstery shop

  26. Here are some random interior piece pics. The rear seat ended up being to "stuffed" and wide for the rear side panels and arm rest to fit. The upholster said he could take the seat apart and rework it and add colored piping if I wanted (I mentioned I wished the piping was colored on the seats to match the rest of the interior). I said heck yeah do it!

So here are the seats now done and some other pieces
