  1. Thanks so much gents it really means a lot! @AmishMike I have been to that site before and it is pretty fantastic! Thanks for the reminder!

I haven't had a lot of time to work on it much but I have made a little more progress on the buck filling in bits here and there.

  2. I also have been spending a little time trying to teach myself how to gas weld aluminum sheet for the body panels. I have a long way to go!

Oh, and I've been goofing around with some scoop options for the carbs as well.

Have you looked a Ron Covill book. He does a lot of gas welding Aluminum

  4. I have not actually. I've watched a couple videos online and I have David's (@Mindover) DVD which is very helpful but at this point I think I just need some seat time? I can Tig weld ally but I feel like I should do this with gas for some reason? Something to add to my resumé! Ha!

I recognize the copper stack & the burnt copper stack ........

  7. Thanks man!

You mean from another thread or from their original purpose?

I've been working on everything but this car for the last couple months. I hope to get some steam again on it soon. I did sit in it last night and make race noises...

  8. Would that quarter panel in the corner be for sale by chance?

  10. Not much happening here but I did push her out of the shop this weekend to clean and make room for her new stablemate. IMG_2628.JPG

Also, my good pal @Kevin Lee brought to me this bitchin' pipe to use for exhaust. It has a nice curve to it. I will most likely stack two of them and go 4 into 2 after a run of some straight pipe to get down the front part of the cockpit. IMG_2609.JPG

P.S.- the tail buck makes a nice place to store parts for other projects...

Good to see you thinking about this build again. Can you remind me of the tyre sizes?

  15. Hi Andrew. Always thinking! Tires are 5.00-17" and 6.00-6.50-17". Cheers!

really great build up, some great ideas and execution... hopefully your still making progress, looking forward to more updates. :)

  19. Hey @redoxide thanks so much! I am making progress though it's not on this, ha! I have way too many irons in the fire and this one is on the side burner for the time being. I'd like to finish the buck enough to pull it apart and finish some things up to be able to drive the chassis around the farm. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later...:)

Have you made it back to this one yet?

  21. I have not. Between working on the house, the yard, and the old trailer I bought to haul the roadster I'm still working on there aren't enough hours in the day! I'm hope to get back to it before I'm too old to get in and out of it!

    Thanks for your interest!

Really like how you made your cowl steering. What diameter pipe did you use as a sleeve for the steering shaft? Also do you recall the source and ID# for the collars?

  23. Thanks! For the steering shaft I just spliced the stock model A shaft to the stock v8 shaft with a slug that I ground down. Is that what you are asking about? Or are you asking about the sector shaft extension?? If yes, then that is either 3/4" or 1" black pipe.

The collars I belive I got through Fastenal if I remember correctly.

    Thank you for your interest!

  27. Just found this one! Very cool! I’ve been drooling over all the speedsters & modifieds lately. Going to have to add one to the project list at some point. Looking forward to when you do find time to get back on this one.

  30. Sorry for the lack of updates on this thing for whoever (whomever?) is still watching! I have scads of other projects going on right now. I did make my little league bat into a bossing hammer and finally dished out my shrinking stump? Also bought a crappy English wheel so maybe I’ll start making scraps soon?

    Cheers! DF830E21-4EF6-4094-86E6-3AE1AAD6F173.jpeg 3A078AB0-2923-4F31-81AC-EB473A3DBD10.jpeg
