IMG_2622.JPG IMG_2624.JPG IMG_0380 (1).JPG IMG_0383.JPG Just brought my 35 Chevy home yesterday. My mom passed and we sold the house. Closing is in a week or 2 so my extra storage spot is gone. Decided to take it to my shop and put it right on the lift. The wheels are gunna go so I can lose the street rod look and have a traditional look. Putting steelies or wires on it. The fab work was done by Neil ( subneil56) on here. I ended up buying it from him at a show. I'll continue the build soon . Thought I'd share...

Sincere sympathy goes out to you and the rest of the Family with your Mom's passing. Never easy. Then to go through distributing items and selling her house, etc is also a challenge. Post pics of your '35

They may have deleted the pics here thinking it's a street rod. The wheels give that impresssion but they're coming off . I guess it's not acceptable.

Delete the post if that's why np

Very sorry about your Mom, good looking car, I vote steelies!

  6. Sorry to read your Mom passed.

Wrong wheels are acceptable if they are for mock up, or as you state, your planning solids or wires.
If I was closer, I have a spare set of Chevy wires.
The car looks great with the chop.

I believe they would be 6 lug wheels like Chevy trucks but could be wrong.

    Sorry about your loss.

I had a 35 Standard 2dr. sure was a lot of wood in it. There was a firm in Ga. that had a wood kit for it. i don't know if they are still around, that was 35 years ago.

  13. sorry to hear about your mom.
    cool car what's the plan?

  14. Man, that's a wicked looking '35. The chop, along with the widened fenders really changes up the front end. Your car's front end is practically horizontal compared to mine. Stock, these cars are tall and skinny. Yours is short and wide. What a difference.

Oh yeah, the wheels can make or break the car. Mine had horrible 80s aluminum wheels on it when I brought it home. I hid them with Moon discs until I could swap them out for the steelies, spider caps and white walls.

My plan right now is probably have the exterior look almost stock with maybe original looking mohair interior. But with a Corvette chassis . Would never see the chassis will be so low. And wheels thinking wires or steelies. May leave in red or black primer or old school green. But as we know as we move along ideas change.

Nice looking old Chevy. I've had one of those since 1972.
BTW........ the orig wheels should have been 5 bolt, but were not 4 3/4 pattern. Some really odd measure.
