  2. At least Chuck dressed it with a buggy spring so it didn't dart left on braking with its original parallel leaf springs and their bump inevitable steer. "Guard rail to guard rail in 8 seconds!"

I'm slowly building by 33 and I'm working in the rear trunk area now, does anyone have good pics of the inside trunk area of a 33 or 36? Drip rain and hinge area, wood...

Drip rail went across the front of the opening and down the sides, it was screwed to the wood rails that run down the body. The rear drip rail was part the the spare tire panel. The hinges bolt to the wood under the rear window. This is the passenger side trunk rail, bolts to the floor at the rear and ties into multiple pieces at and under the rear window. I posted a pic before in this thread when you asked before.

  6. It's Dubach as in Bones, (Gary)Dubach and Pisano. This was after they went different directions and not long before the car was sold. The Muzi Kart I believe still exists but what it looks like today I have no idea. It was sold on eBay over 10 years ago as a roller and in gray primer.

Thanks man, my memory is gone!
I just ordered a wood kit from John Buchanan and WOW he is talented. He makes the wood AND metal brackets.

In this picture of a trunk lid, it looks like the metal wraps around the wood, mine doesn't have that piece of metal, my edges are flat.

The brackets are copied off my original I let John borrow. They are for the rear window to the trunk hinge support wood. The other pics you show are a rumble seat which the wood is mostly the same. The handle and lock position is obviously different but the skin is the same for both except for the hole for the handle and of course hinging is different. I used to have a lid the edges all had rusted away but I found a better one so I sold it. When my coupe was being built in the 60's a metal firewall was put in to seperate the interior from the trunk so I believe GM F body hinges were adapted. If you're going to do something like that you could just fab something up

I found a set of 33 hinges, so I'll use them. I'll snap a few photos of my underside trunk in the morning and hopefully you can shed some light on this. I started cutting up 2 1933 sedan inner door skins for a possibly inner trunk skin. If it doesn't look nice, I'll scrap it and buy the wood inner, but I want to keep the car as light as a feather. My car was a rumble I think, but I am making it into a trunk lid.

  11. Post a pic of the hinges too. In almost 20 years I've only ever had one extra pair of original trunk hinges(already went on another coupe), they're pretty scarce

Pretty sure Fast Eddie's is a Thames not a Willys and Ron's last name is Bizio, no "r". I just like to keep the facts straight. Thanks for keeping up on the pic posting I love the vintage photos

    Hello,

This exact race (or one identical in nature) took place at Lions Dragstrip in 1964. I was there to record/film the debut of Atts Ono’s superb 40 Willys. As usual, these two (Pittman/Mazmanian) top gas Willys Coupes were at the ALL GASSERS MEET. Both cars sounded as mean as usual, but K.S. Pittman, in the newer Willys build, had some difficulties in this elimination race against Big John Mazmanian’s 40 Willys Coupe. Wheel hop anyone? Too much power? Transmission not engaging correctly?

    Jnaki
BJM made a smoking, single run for the win.

    K.S. Pittman

    Big John Mazmanian
