Let's see some Willys sedan drag cars. 4 doors 2doors. Did these cars run Gas class or Altered class with engine set back? Here are just a few i found around the H.A.M.B.

  2. If the engine setback was no more then 10% (NHRA) then it could have run gas class.

  4. These are cool. I have always liked the sedans better then the coupes for door slammers.

Color me stupid, and school me a bit, or at least help me remember.

@DDDenny or @Speed Gems the headlight (bug eyed?) cars are '39 and earlier right?

Nice to see these cars get the courage they deserve.

Assuming that the bug eyed cars had their original front ends they would be 1937-38 or 1939 model 48 cars. They also made the 1939 Willys Overland with the shark nose.

The "Assassin " from Post #5, ran A/G with an injected Pontiac, and SBC, before John Anderson and Chet Thomas (owners), chopped the top and installed a blown fuel Chrysler. Jim Barnard joined the team, and they moved to AA/FA. A-1.jpg A-3.jpg

Eddie Sanzo 41 sedan ran A/G with a 468" 409 motor. Vinnie Tarantola owner of "Vitar Hydros" had the 40 sedan that ran C/GS first with a nailhead Buick and then with a 288" Chevy which he held the C/GS record with.
