  1. Find your self an original one for your ride and you will be happy. Most of the repop one are junk.

The coupe is looking nice. How'd you train it to sit up like that! :D

When I tightened up my Ford emblem it pulled the screw out of the back of it. I hit it with the grinder lightly to remove any burrs and used black silicon on the back side to sort of glue it in place. Seems to have worked.

Finished up tig welding all the cracks in the firewall . Shot some black etch prime on it. Also fabbed up an alternator bracket to keep the alternator nice and tight to the block .

Spent most of the morning cruising in the model A.. it was a nice break from the garage.

Ben. I still love the new build, but man that little A coupe sure looks nice. Reminds me spring is coming along.

You can buy one that looks stock on Ebay, Todd. About $200 dollars, ehh.

Rearranging the garage today . While doing some mud work on the firewall... I love body work on a car itself ... but this small stuff kills me . But it'll be a nice original firewall when it's done . I don't want to do 13 coats of high build .. this is easier . And stronger when it's all done

  11. Ben, You need to try some of the spray on Bondo as it works great for something like what you are doing on the firewall. Sands great also.

Firewall is finished , and my summit starter came . A little machine work was required to fit the cragar adapter , but it looks good. . Doesn't have the mini drive look.

Here some Progress on the coupe. I got the firewall all painted . It took several hours of struggling trying to get it in the car with the correct cowl gasket.. and it still didn't fit. So the firewall is welded in now. Which I've seen it done a lot and I'm not ashamed one bit. So it's. now in , and I got the radiator all fit to the mounting tabs , grill shell fit to it, and installed the hood and side panels. Pretty good fit out of the box so to speak . But I decided to strip the black primer off the grill shell and do some other tweaking , and now thing lines up. So the struggle begins getting everything fit... i also installed the firewall fuel line and block , and ran the lines to the carbs . I spent several hours getting the deck lid handle fit in, and he latch working right . The trunk bumpers really make it close nice and tight .

Which side of the radiator do you plan on running the fan? I'm running into the same issue with the fan being to low and the it hitting the lower rad hose. IMG_1525.JPG

While Ben has been good with posting the pictures, and the pictures have been great, this car is even better in person. The attention to detail and craftmanship is second to none. I may have to make the pilgrimage back to see the coupe when it is done. He has definitely raised the bar for my project.

  19. I had the same problem with my fan and ended up running an elec fan on it. Really did not want to go this way, but not much of a choice. Could have bought a zips set up and brought the fan up higher, but did not have the $$ to go that way.

Being this close to the finish line, does this mean you'll start working on your boss's diesel truck soon?
