I ended up making like 7 passes on Friday and 5 Saturday and I didn't round robin at all. Cool thing was to come back from Sam's Drive Inn Friday night and pull right in the staging lanes and make a pass 10 minutes later.

And you probably would have been able to make a dozen passes Friday if you didn't get dragged into sorting out somebody else's wiring problems....

Thanks again Jon.I can't express how grateful I am for all your help and friendship.

It's what makes get togethers like this fun. It's not ALL about the racing. My next question, where's a decent place to stay. I know it's getting late. Done some checking, places are still available. Haven't decided to camp at the track or grab a hotel. Doesn't have to be 5 star.

My ol lady and daughter got a room at a hotel in Rockford. Comfort inn or holiday inn express. I can't say whether they are good or bad. We stayed at the paddle wheel inn last year. But this year they was all full up.

    Building another SBC for it.
We are painting it white. Why white you may ask? Because as Carly told someone in the staging lanes at the Meltdowns last year: "because it is so fricken hot sitting in this black car!"

The name will remain the same!

Scott, your year is coming but I was more then happy to be available to help you out and just was hoping you could make some good passes. The Meltdowns is the place to see friends you only get to see the onetime a year deal and make new ones also. The pressure of getting ready for the Meltdowns is huge it seems but I think it's because it's the event you have the most fun at doing nothing but running your car flat against your buddy's.

Anyone close to Madison have a pair of stock 15" steel wheels? Like the ones used for a spare tire. I need to get the slicks mounted up to see if they will fit!

I have some Chevy 15 "rally wheels, 8" wide with 4 3/4 back spacing.
The bad thing is they are heavy and require tubes.

Damn, it's actually gonna happen. After 4 tries I'm finally gonna come play at the Meltdown with 499 of the baddest machines to ever roll down a race track. Time off is set, room is booked. New engine is in the final stages of assembly as I type this. It's either gonna be deep in the 10's with the new bullet, or 11.70's with the old turd motor. I sure hope this new one works out as planned. I'll post some #'s after the trip to the dyno. 8858.jpeg 8859.jpeg 8861.jpeg
