Event Coverage Havasu Deuce Show 2017

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by vintagehotrods, Mar 6, 2017.

  1. Last weekend I drove my Deuce pickup over to Lake Havasu for the Havasu Deuce Day Show. This was the second year and it was even better than the first one with some of the finest Deuces in the southwest. This year was a 3 day event with a Thursday cruise-in downtown, the Friday Garage Tour and the show on Saturday in the city's Rotary Park which is the perfect venue in a lush grass athletic field. The weather was perfect with temps in the 70's with just a little overcast sky to make it very comfortable.

I parked next to my favorite Deuce, my friend Mike DeVriendt's black flathead powered 3W with a rare set of 16" General Jumbos.

I was heading home and my buddy John Stimac was leading his collection of Deuces back to his shop. We had a little race and he blew me away with the healthy Ford in his 3W!

And when was the last time you saw a flathead powered, full fendered, chopped and channeled 32 coupe? This one was there .....

  21. I'd love to see you out here more Steve! Maybe Jack could kidnap you the next time he's back in Iowa and hold you for ransom.

  22. Yes sir,I certainly did. HRP

  23. Here you go Robert! My favorites are these I took in Glacier National Park on the beautiful "Road To The Sun" this summer on the way back from Deuce Day Northwest in Victoria, B.C. We traveled 6000 miles for 8 weeks this summer with it trailered behind the motorhome and used it for getting around the six National Parks, several National Monuments and the Black Hills of South Dakota that we visited. We put about 1200 miles on the pickup doing that and we probably had about a thousand pictures taken of us by other tourists, mostly from other countries.

Plus if you are the one putting it on, you don't get to enjoy all the activities as much.

Jerry, thank for origanizing and posting all the great pics. This was the first time for me attending the show, the organizers did a great job. Especially liked the garage crawl.
