Wow! Nice find! Not keen on the color, but maybe it'll look better cleaned up and out in the sun light.

    So what's the story?

  9. Do you know if that coupe was ever painted dark green?

    Amazing find.
That would be my new daily driver!
The color isn't my favorite either, but it's not bad. At least it's not the blue, yellow or black that 90 percent of the cars like this would be. Besides, the paint is part of the story!

Thanks so much for the compliments. Honestly I just can't get over how solid this car is. Very little rust and no filler. I have been hoping to buy this Car since first seeing it five years ago. It has been sitting since 1978. Kept in dry storage in a garage. It's spent most of it's life beside a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible that was sold shortly after the owner passed away in 2013. I went with a friend of mine to look at a 36 Ford pick up that he eventually bought and first saw this coupe. After falling on some hard financial times The man's son agreed to sell the car to me last week. I have been into hot rods all my life. My dad and I have a 32 Ford real coupe and I really didn't need another project at this time But who could pass this up.! This car is a Time Machine. the interior as you can see in the photos is from early 60's and I have absolutely no plans to change it, other than just cleaning it up. It has an awesome steering wheel that I think might be 1957 Ford (my Dad remembered this because he learned to drive on a 57 ford) maybe someone out there could tell more by the pictures. The brake pedal and master cylinders as well as the power brake booster appear to be from the same donor car. My father looked up the numbers on the intake and said that it is from 1952 - 1953 mercury flathead. It has a single carburetor, and a generator. I am currently trying to figure out if it is a six or 12 V system. anyone out there with info about some of the items in the photo please reply. I am still investigating the car for what it is. I really love the Rumble seat. Not sure about the spare tire on the back. that might be leaving? [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]My plans right now or to just get it running. But I would eventually like to paint satin black get a new master cylinder and brake system, and Lower it.
