Technical steering wheel frusration

Aargh!
Chevy is close to be finished but now this stupid steering wheel / horn ring is giving me worse headache than red wine.
It's a -54 passenger and I fear I've lost some minor parts on steering wheel assembly or I'm just being plain stupid ( don't say it).
What am I missing here?

Don't know the actual names of the parts (english isn't my language) but lets try. Wheel, horn ring, spring that goes under wheel on the shaft, spring loaded thingy that goes into the hole on the wheel, metal plate with holes and plastic ring that has three holes on the sides, three screws (hopefully right lenght).
What else? I' thinking there should be soekind of spring to keep the horn ring nit to make contact with the base (so that it is not hot all the time).
Pictures would be most helpfull.

Sounds to me you are using a Grant style steering wheel adapter and horn kit.
Yes, there should be a spring about 1 3/4" in diameter, and maybe 2"tall, tapered, to keep the contact plate off the steering wheel. Sounds to me as if you have the spring in the wrong place.
Wheel adapter that goes on the end of your steering shaft. Then the spring loaded "thingy" goes in the extra hole on the adapter, spring up, so the metal end makes contact with the bottom of the horn assembly.
The three bolts you have should be shouldered so that they tighten the steering wheel to the adapter, but allow the "metal plate" you described to "float" loose. Then goes the spring I described, then the metal plate, metal down, plastic up. Then the cap snaps on top of all that.
The idea is to have the "thingy" make contact with the plate that makes up the bottom of the horn assembly whenever you push it down. The spring inside holds the horn assembly away from the steering wheel until you push down and complete the circuit.
OK, guys chime in here, I'll bet I have really confused our friend now.....

The spring in your first picture, goes below the steering wheel.

Here. Because the plastic ring insylatir did not fit the holes I made new out of ordinary hardware screw stuff. It was already on it's place and works fine. Thanks.
Problem seems to have been on wrong instructions I found in the net earlier...

Yea, it's all good now. Kinda funny though. Ripped the car in parts and put it together and biggest headache is the steering wheel!
