    It's Friday… let's go!!!

Scott Sullivan's iconic '55 Chevy. One of my favorite Tri Five… in fact, I think My Favorite!

    'Spark'

I dig cheap cars... Y'know, that horrid lil' Toyota in ONE HOUR PHOTO? Opel Rekords?

I like the Chevrolet Spark. I've conceived the idea of a new 'newstalgia' class- Pop moulds of new cars, and comp-coupe them. Reverse traditional. Clothe the mechanicals in HAMB- era drag swag.

This is the first time I haven't used one of my photos here. This was done in
collaboration with HOT ROD magazine (though they don't know it). They
did this two page spread on the helmets, I cropped them down, evened the pages, added the title and the border. Since I have a few vintage helmets this was right up my alley.

  9. {TGIF } I thought I would do a tribute to the 40 Ford this week. I think it is one of the sexiest body styles ever. And thanks for a great F.A.S. everyone. Ron... 080.jpg

    Hello,

After lining up at 3 am to get a good spot in the gas lines, I kept a great strategy of how to use the gas and get back in line very early on those odd/even days. Luckily our two cars had odd and even tags. But, sleeping until the 7 am opening gas station time in a bucket seat was not the most comfortable place to get good sleep. I decided that I wanted to be able to sleep in my own bed and not have to get up at 3 am to get in the local gas lines. Alternative energy would have to replace the straight gasoline engine as the main source of power. Oh no…not that.

So, I decided the best way was to dream up a car that would not be locked into only gasoline usage. This small wagon would have a 911 flat 6 with twin turbos plus an electric motor to run the front wheels, making this an all wheel drive car. The front wheel drive could be powered by the electric motor up to 60 mph with the battery being charged by the wheels turning and not a generator/alternator. So if you rolled down a hill, you were charging the battery.

Sorry for the bleed through from another paper. Without thinking, I used the art notebook for a drying page from our old Royal Typewriter and other prints. I did not realize it bled through to the art. I know...What is a Royal Typewriter...

Power came from the 911 turbo charged motor, but the electric motor powered the car for everyday use. The silent Volts-wagen rides again.

  15. Great start guys , glad I got up early !

I have been trying my hand (eye) on designing the 2017 SCTA SpeedWeek Poster, I don't claim to be a true 'artist'. I found a series of art posters that were done for the movie series Mad Max. they were interesting so I used (stole) them as an inspiration.

    534.jpg Bones-a.jpg Jlll.jpg VOT.jpg If SCTA doesn't like them, I will release them as a series

Sorry for the OT car. Painting done by my friends 17 year old daughter of his car.

  30. Ron Brown, Great work! You have to be a professional. If not, then you should be. That 32 is GREAT! Here is another 40 coupe. I just love the old drive in theaters. We have one here in the valley, that's been open since 1956. Thanks again everyone. Ron... 076.jpg
