Did you ever do this project out in IL? I also have a '52 L110 that I am thinking of modernizing with an S10 chassis/running gear. That seems like the most efficient and economical approach to having a nicely driveable classic IHC I can comfortably take on the freeway, but still haul a load when I need to. If you know of a good project build thread for a similar truck, I would appreciate a link to learn what I can about body mounts, which S10 chassis is the closest wheelbase and track dimensions, etc.!

OH! I found your photo album on the Poor Boy Express, ILFarmboy. I'll keep surfing and find some further examples of what I plan to do. I hope you have gotten it on the road and enjoyed it all this time since your earlier post!

IMG_0310.JPG I just recently purchased this 54' international. Solid and clean. Nice little driver. Looking to convert to power disc brakes, but keep straight axel. Suggestions? Also looking for a factory short bed. I believe 1950-57 will fit. Any leads would be appreciated.

Here is my new toy. 56 International R-120 with a SD220 under the hood. All stock at this point. Took some work to get the paint back, but totally worth the elbow grease. Got it with only 35k mi. on the motor and still runs like a champ. Planning to do some pretty serious overhauling to her but I cant seem to find anyone that has done much with the R-120 model, tons of info on the S line but very little on the R line. Maybe i'm looking in the wrong places but when I google it I typically get series results. Any Ideas?

I sold my IH a couple weeks ago, a '53 L-110 with an R-series grille swapped in. Not much else was custom on it though. Was going to be a shop truck but I've got too much stuff and have to get rid of some. Sold in a day, maybe it was too cheap? I wish everything was that easy to sell.

Those late 50s - 60s International pickups need a top chop worse than anything I ever saw.

  23. I'm not building this but I kinda dig it. Pretty rare truck I think. From what I've researched...a c900.

IMG_20170326_181019005.jpg Here is my 1967 1500B. Big Dad, you might recognize it since it spent the better part of the last 50 years in the Brookings area. Although it was a dually flatbed for much of that time. Excuse that ugly orange thing on the back.

  26. Ive owned a few. still have two in the hoard and a metro. Never liked them very much. Had a 4 wheel drive slant 4 cyl engined scout that was a lot of fun. It would climb like a billy goat. probably because it had no spin differentials front and rear!

I need to figure out a disc brake swap or an axle swap off of a different truck. My brakes are awesome...but if I ever cook a drum it won't be a good deal. You literally cannot buy parts for the brakes on this thing. After that (if and when) shorter front tires, lower the front a couple inches, nice low flatbed, push bumper, big winch on the back with a wheel lift and collapsible gin pole. A 392 and a nv4500 would be great too.
