That 37 Chevy is beautiful. I know it's a matter of personal choice, but shiny paint would put it in a class of its own.!!!

According to the post that I read this morning, the coupe is a fresh build. I would imagine shinny is just around the corner.

Brian Dunning is the owner and he has a blast driving it around all over OKC.

If you are going to leave the hood up at a car show this is the way to show it off. Very Kool!

Here is my favorite view of a Kustom. Being behind the wheel.

I wondered the other day if anyone had done this before. Chevy grill surround looks Kool in a Mercury

  27. Wow, the Chevy grille and surround look great on a Merc! I've never seen it done before. It makes this awesome Mercury very unique. Who would've ever thought? E

I like to see different grill treatments on Kustoms. Years ago, I was thinking about doing this to my Merc because I thought it hadn't been done before. After seeing the picture it should be done more often.

That Chevy grille also has the ribbed panels below the little end spears eliminated (which is a bit more work than just cutting it off, because there'd be a gap left) and also they must have welded up the original teeth holes on the bar and redrilled to get 5 teeth that are evenly spaced like that. They also cut and bent the surround and the bar to give it a peak in the center to match the Mercury grille, the Chevy surround doesn't have a peak. It also looks like they took a bit of height out of the grille opening, judging by the distance from the top and bottom of the parking light housings.

Someone spent a ton of time and effort, and planning, to get that Chevy grille in there so cleanly. That is far, far from a bolt-on type job.
