It sure has the profile looks of a Saab Sonnet but IMO is something else. That blue car is a very small car.

Notice the chrome wheels on the 61 Chevy, and what could be Astro Supreme wheels on the 63 Chevy. The girls are smoking, and appear to be about 14 or so. The naughty things.

I've seen it, but as I recall it was a '55 four-door with tweaked '53 front sheet metal. It was a test mule; the '53 nose was a disguise. What stands out is that they had to flatten a portion of the hood so it would match the lower '55 cowl. It looked crude, even by test mule standards. I'll post a pic when I find it.

I was born and raised in St. Helen's , bought my first new car at the Chevrolet Dealership ship that's pictured Jordan Motors, car was a 85 Monte Carlo SS, and just around the corner from the lot is a industrial area, that's the place I rolled my 68 Olds 442 while I was drag racing, yes on the street, and also received my first reckless driving ticket I still have some items from that nite including the life of my brother and myself......[IMG]

Mid 80's I was getting restoration parts for my 67 Nova from Nick at M&N in Warren.
If I remember correctly he also was a mechanic at Jordans.
BTW, I test drove one of the first SS Monte Carlos, IIRC an 83 from Ron Tonkin Chevrolet.

Ya I know Nick...Good guy really knows his stuff, I bought a 67 Camaro from him year ago... I really enjoyed my Monte bought it in December 84 drove it rite off the show room floor with 15 miles on it they said it was the first maroon one with bucket seats to be delivered to Oregon...When summer come around I would drive it to work in Longview WA. after work I would hit I-5 to Portland Oregon's PIR and drag race it then head home every Wednesday nite during the season it run consistent 13.90's all night and still get 22 miles per gallon going home and to work nest morning

The building in the background is The Old Charming Inn which was demolished in 1962 to build a high rise. So the picture was taken before then. The Old Charming Inn, Victoria, B.C..jpg Old Charming Inn.JPG

It's not a Saab Sonett. This is a Saab Sonett II.

Most probably it's a kit car, those were very popular in UK.

And as you grew older (taller), you would roll down the cuffs and use iron patches on the knees

That photo was taken in 1956, so I'd bet the film being shown was 'The McConnell Story' staring Alan Ladd.

Bean Bandits car. This car could be run with one or two engines and with a roadster or coupe body, making it eligible for several different classes (dragster, roadster, coupe). With a good bit of elbow grease, it was known to run in multiple classes at the same meet.
