Don't think this has appeared here before, but it has been doing the rounds in the UK.
It's from a book on buses, probably taken in the late '60's, but no-one has been able to identify the blue car turning out of the side road. Probably a fibreglass "special"?

  10. Just pointing him out. Of course that's how we all are.
Thought it was funny that the photographer caught him, that's all.

I'm wondering if it could be an early 60's Daimler or common manufacturer of some type....it's got the same tail fins and apparent front 'mouth' with the sloping hood...they were making all kinds of 'special' cars on this concept back in the day to be sure....I'm just wondering if it's a Daimler of some sort?....only thing is, it doesn't have the noticeable 'fender' outlines on the Daimler posted here on this 61' model....I'm curious what that car in your picture is! untitled.png

I had a thought of the Daimler, but my best guess is a Saab Sonnet???

You could be right.....those front headlight cutouts kind of thru' me off....It very well could be a Saab Sonett...at least it has the correct headlight cutouts...very interesting!...only thing is, the windshield is different on this pic...very early 60's I'd say in your picture. imagesTO47NFYW.jpg

What makes it difficult is that the sonnett has been through many changes. the one you show has a wraparound rear window, while older ones are flat as in the original picture.

I agree....and in the photograph, the rear fender fins were more elongated, not mention the wraparound windshield, which indicates an 'earlier' style....it's baffling, especially with those square-edged headlight buckets, where most other makers rounded them in the 60's...I'm 'very' curious if somebody can come up with the make of this car, and perhaps the year;)

I'm not sure about the conversation, but I bet it was a comfortable ride. HA!

  19. Has the look of this Alken D-2 fiberglass car body from Venice, California. The door line is different. They also made a roadster version....https://www.google.com/search?q=Alk...X&ved=0ahUKEwiWu-zk5pXSAhXs64MKHSx3AEgQsAQIGQ

Not a Saab or a Daimler, although there are resemblances. Cant say what it is, but can say what it isn't. I'd guess a ford based special.
