Hot Rods Blown 57 Chevy

Going with no hood for now... Not sure whate the future holds though.

 

Yep... Didn't have it hooked up yet in the photos.

 

Finally talked a guy I know into selling me his prised possession valve covers. They are going to be my cherry on top of my motor build. They are a set of old school super rare (A F/X) Altered Fuel Experimental valve covers.

 

Just sitting on there for a quick pic...

Yeah, I can SMELL the coolness from here. My old 57 only had a teeny little 283 with an AFB.

 

Do yr self a big Favor , install a Good Wide Band O2 , start on little on rich side ,
About 30 deg total timing , I prefer side saddle carb mount, lot easier to jet & make changes ,
You should have NO prolblem knocking tire's loose , RPM come up FAST if tuned correct!!!

 

And indeed the little 265 & 283's changed everything! Nice HT.

 

It's a nice 60 degrees here in PA today. So I took the 20 mins to push all the tools out of the way so I could push her out of the barn. First time I got to see what she looks like from a distance. I like the way the new wheels and tires look and of course the blower sticking up is pure Awesomeness! But I think I need to raise the front end up at least three more inches somehow. Maybe those old-school coil spacers you would turn in would work. Not sure if they still sell them though. I guess I will sit here and stare at her for a little bit longer, then get my ass up and make the alternator bracket that I've been putting off for a week now and get this thing finished up.

 

You'll probably only get about an inch with the spacers.

The 57 looks good, man! And your two lane 55 is cool. Do you check the jets often on the 55??

 

That needed to get outside. You can't hide something that cool from the rest of the world. Looking great !

 

Man that's really a good looking '57, well done sir. The blower is the perfect counter point to understated color scheme (which I really like). I tend to like the altitude as is. Sharp!
My one experience with a "blown '57" is when the neighbor had 2dr post Belair. Painted it purple sungleam (hey, it was the late 60's). Put a wicked times 2, solid cam in it one weekend. Lasted a week maybe, blown '57!

 

Straight axle, radius rear wheel wells....

 

Looking at the 2nd picture down, I'd leave 'er right where she's at!
Might need a little more rear tire though.

What you storing on the second floor of your building?? That main beam looks a little twisted. You may want to remove some weight or at least do some shoring from below.
