Right now as it sits it's nothing more that a paper weight on the stand getting in the way. To be honest....... maybe I typed it wrong it could be a 603..... or a 30.06.

I am sure many of you who have been to the Meltdown have met David Z. David is Paul's son and has been helping/working the Meltdown since he was 9 years old. He is 16 years old now and got his first car.

It is pretty rough...but how cool is it that his first car is a 1962 Bel Air.

It is a 6 cylinder and needs everything you would expect (quarters, front fenders, body braces, some frame work, etc.) but it is a very cool first car. It had been sitting in a building since 1988

  22. Great start David,...I've enjoyed talkin with David at every Meltdown,...mostly about bicycles,...we rode our bikes down the 1/4 mile one year and saw a couple of deer on the far end, cool,..now we can talk about his Bel Air!

Looks like a really good 62. Is it a 3 speed or a Power Glide?

I'm planning on Havana, also. Running at Great Lakes, would be a good time, but Havana is more familiar. My older brother and one of my nephews ran there for several years. The attached photos are of my brother running his 57 at Havana. The first two are from about 1971, and the second two are from about 1989, or so. It's the same car that he's run at The Meltdown.

Made some more progress on car today with the temps in the mid 60's! Made up a bracket for fuel Regulator & lines all plumbed. Put the bell & trans back in her. Got to get things measured up for new stronger driveshaft. Still need a lil more grinding on the intake for Distributor clearance. Hope to get after it again in the morning... Any reason you went with those carbs and not holleys? Not wanting to start the others vs holley wars again just curious.
