Been working on setting the steering up. Im running an f-1 box and model a sector housing bolted in the stock location. Im using a set of 33-36 exhaust manifolds. I got about 3/4" clearance betweeen the box and manifold without having to move the box. Chucked up the cut down model a sector in the lathe and made a cut for the f-1 seal

    image.jpeg

Also found a piece of oak dowel rod and cut it to fit the model a side and the cut down f1 box to act as an alignment tool to tack it and weld it. Once its welded ill knock out the wood and push in the new bushings and hone them to size

    image.jpeg

    image.jpeg

Bolted the box in and used a piece of tubing to figure out where i wanted the steering wheel. Next i gotta figure out some sort of column drop

Great looking build. I like how this is coming together. What are you using for a seat?

Little update, started working on getting my banjo together. Got the pinion assembly in the housing, set the pinion pre-load and got it locked down. Takes about 15in lbs to move it. Next up is to put it all back together and set the back lash.
    image.jpeg

Also been working on a buddys 49 f-1. Swapped out the front axle for a nostalgia sids 3" drop axle. Installed some posies drop leaf springs. Gave it a nice stance
    image.jpeg

Pulled the flathead out to freshen it up a bit. Its a good running motor. The plans are new navarro heads and intake. Dual 97's, fresh coat of paint , a t5 swap, and a whole bunch of other polished goodies

Got the banjo together and ready to go back under the car, anxious to see how it sits with the new reversed eye rear main spring

Got to the point where i needed to get the body off to do some things on the frame. Cobbled together a cart out of wood to roll it around.,
    image.jpeg
My neighbor helped me get the body off, hopefully it will be the last time it comes off.
    image.jpeg

Got the rear end hung back under and back on all fours. Next step is to do some finish welding on the f1 crossmember, motor mounts, and some other things. Gonna work on shortening my torque tube and driveshaft

Been working a shutdown at work, everyday, 12 hours a day for the last 15 days. Finally got a day off. Mangaged to get a couple things done. I go back to work tomorrow for another 15 days.
Cut out and moved the pedal mount inboard on the f1 crossmember. Got the clutch linkage hooked up.

    image.jpeg

Also whipped up a parking brake mount that bolts to the trans.

    image.jpeg

Next up is shortening the torque tube and driveshaft.if i remember Ill try to get alot of pics when i do it. Back to work

Lodaddyo, just fyi, I think the handle is normally mounted with the lip/overhang to the front although you can do it anyway that makes you happy!:)
