More frame work and I started to tear down the rear end.

After cleaning the diff housing I was cleaning the gasket surface and found a crack

So I took it to work and had someone TIG it for me
Now the hard part, returning it to the machined surface

fixing or repair what you have. Any one can open the Catalog and get what you need all ready to install but what you are doing is pretty cool!! Keep It up!!

Good progress! Thanks for the F1 brake tip. I'll be using those when I start my build, too.

Short video of the front wishbone fabrication.
I'm not sure how much strength the wishbone ball mount should have. I just made a mount that connected to the stock 1939 transmission mount which will be welded to the X member. If you watch the video and see a concern, please let me know. I'm looking for suggestions.

 

I made good progress today. I was a half inch to wide on my F1 steering box/ modal A flange, so I fixed that and was able to temporarily mount the steering column. Once the steering was in I bent the clutch and brake pedals to their position. Temporarily mounted the repop 32 dash to see what I needed to do about a column drop. Threw the seat and shifter in to get a feel of it all. I need to shorten the steering column and find a smaller steering wheel. It felt good to sit in it. Mounted the radiator and checked the fit of the hood top and sides, I need to bring the bottom of the radiator out, that will help with fan clearance.

Hi Manager, I like those better, the ones I have are to long and go out towards the wheels to much. I have decided to use weld on lower shock mounts that weld directly to the axle. They will move the shocks inward and be better looking.

Too big. 3/16 " 1/4 max Looks nice and even.

 

Thanks to the excellent thread by Dennis Lacy, I felt comfortable enough to try to drop my steering arms.

 

Thanks Manager, the reason I ask is because I wasn't sure if there was a cowl band that was supposed to go in that area.

The 302 is ready to go to the machine shop, so I had time today to cut the gas tank out. I left a lip around the sides for support.
