    Claire Heaton's '33 3 window,
a good friend to all, never got the accolades
he deserved. Raced at Bonneville, drags,
and on the Street.. Hey, times were different
    then. !!!

Our Grandparents lived in Pasadena for several years before moving to North Hollywood. Grandma loved driving her Chevy cars. She would always laugh when we would sing "The little old Lady from Pasadena" to her. She also loved to sing the Cal Worthington car dealer jingle whenever we saw his ads on TV.
That is Grandma in her 54 Belair. Her last car was a 56 Belair that she would let me take my Wife out for a ride when we would visit. Grandma was a short Lady and had blocks on the pedals so that she could reach them.

I know the guy that got the T. Jack from Santa Barbara. Now living in Buelton. Bought it a few years ago (not sure I loose track of time) Might still have it. Jack buys and sells old auto related stuff.

It wasn't a coincidence because Nashville Records was a subsidary of Starday Records. Starday (and Nashville) Records specialized in truck driving themed LPs. They shot the album covers at Nashville area truckstops.

  18. Redfin (SS-272) with the Grampus (SS-523) and other subs alongside AS-18 Orion was taken between 1953-55. The other 3 boats are from outboard in Migraine II Requin (SS-481) and Migraine I Burrfish (SS-312) and Tigrone (SS-419). The order of the last 2 might be reversed.

  19. That is an interesting piece of trivia and makes sense- I guess the other part of the coincidence I referred to was that one guy has both albums.

Saratoga Springs N.Y. What year bikes ?

    Attached Files:

  21. Based on the tank badges 41- 46 with the main drive chain on the left side its a big twin. A 45 would have the chain on the right side. Only cop bikes were painted silver. The pic is very interesting. During the war years several changes were made to the bike with the ration on. Chrome was not available. They were painted in gray only unless it was a cop bike. The painted headlight and bezel; tank badges; speedo bezel; tailight and lack of fender trim all point to a war year bike. Not seen is the air cleaner. This would also be painted black.Sometimes like in this case some miscellaneous chrome parts are seen. Most likely using up what ever parts were on the shelf. The gas caps: horn button cover; high low switch cover and spirals would normally painted black also. To make up for the lack of rubber available the grips and kicker pedal were made of plastic. The foot boards used a thin piece of tin. Eventually the tires were made of plastic. Shown is a 46 knuckle head i restored a few years ago. Starting in 46 red; blue; and black paint became available again along with some chrome. 20170123_215405.jpg

True true, what's crazy is, a close friend of mine has a '42 "civilian" servi-car. Crazy stuff, he's been offered a pile of money. Not for sale.
