I will be running the falcon next year but it will be getting a heart transplant here in the next few weeks. About to start building my headers as well. Hopefully it'll be ready to go by the first race

I've got a set of their intake plates on the windsor in the car now. Yes, we are building a 434" engine with highport boss 302 heads

Nice stuff but where are the rules located ? The announcer referred to all 4sp cars & 1967 rules but I heard the yellow 55 refer to an automatic trans and I see the Falcon upgrade to Cleveland "Boss 302"style heads that were NOT available in 67 ... so ? WTF can I run with you ? stock front suspension 351 c and 4sp

never mind I got them , thanks , even though I am a FORD guy I see to many modern engines allowed beyond the 67 rule so Ill just stay where Im at. UMTR is #1 stick shift racing at it best !

  21. Been watching yours, and Dog Patch's threads. You South East Gasser guys get it!
It's about having a nice car sure, but it's as much about going out and racing the old fashioned fun way!
I'm picking up some great fab tips from guys that don't have a shop full of high dollar fab machinery.
Don't see a dog in the whole group. Keep it up. Thanks, Mike

Yeah good idea. That's what I would do if I was into bracket racing.

The cutoff for legal engines is 1967 with a few exceptions, the iron boss 302 head being one of them. If there werent a couple extra years allowed on the ford side of things, the only ford option would be a small inch 302 based engine or FE engine ($$$$). This would knock most all ford guys out of competition. Im trying to find some documentation of the boss 302 head from 1967, but so far the earliest we have been able to track a set of them back is the first half of 1968

Even the predecessor of the Boss 302, the tunnelport 302 came out in early 68.
434 c.i., are you using a Dart or Ford racing block?

Yes the tunnelport 302 heads were raced in trans am in 68, although I have some documentation of some sets being tested in '67. I would love to find a set one day in the semi affordable range. I've been digging pretty hard the last year trying to find the earliest documented engines/heads of each type of fords late 60's releases. It's a dart iron eagle

    Gabe,
I don't know if you know Randy Gillis out of California, but he is kind of a 302 Tunnel Port guru.
He might be able to set you up with a pair of those heads and an intake.
I have his number if you want it.

  29. Needs to be a group like you guys for early short wheelbase front engined dragsters...
I guess it would be hard to keep the speeds down. How do you guys approach safety and still remain traditional?
