  1. OK! I said I was going to do this so here it is. "Things That Will Never Be On My Hot Rod" For me it is all about traditional Hot Rods! Closing in on seventy years old:eek: I, just like other old bastards are trying to reclaim their youth.:p What I like was actually just before my getting a drivers license in 1963. Most of my inspiration was from older guys coming out of the 50's. I know there are lots of neat features on new builds and that is ok. But remember back in the 40's and 50's there was not lots of things to choose from. Nor did we have the funds. I am not saying these newer things are wrong, just that they are wrong for me. So when I build a car there will never be: "Automatic Transmission" as long as I can push a clutch in:oops: There will never be : "A Universal Joint In The Steering" I know someone will show one from the past.:rolleyes:Will never be "Four Bar Front End" Will never be "Independent Suspension"
"Radial Tires" I know I am pushing it here but again it is just me. OK I will stop for now! ;)
But what would you not have on your build?

no disk brakes, no radial tires, no alternators, no automatic trans, no IFS, no power steering, no EFI, no large diameter stupid billet wheels... I could go on and on. I wish that people that wanted modern would just get a modern car and stop screwing up perfectly good old cars with modern crap...

I agree with you Moriarity, I've had to do a couple of auto trans updates for some of my older customers with blown out knees, that I can understand. I hate more than anything the large diameter rims and tires. Digital gauges are a big thumbs down for me too!

I see all the butchered up frame swaps around here under some what could be very nice cars, it makes me sick to my stomach.

Red wheels! Any wheel size over 16" diameter, probably never over 15". Billet aluminum, unless it's painted over. Also agree on no digital gauges.

My dad always said that I should never go out with a woman with more tattoos than I do.

    Does that count?

Coilovers, digital gauges and ugly billet steering wheels circa 2000
