Referring to the Ford in post 4891, I recall it being very well done. I had a clean, fresh look to it, like the satin paint had been applied moments before I snapped that photo. Nice details are the way the 54 Chevy grill was not just bolted on, but metalworked into the fenders. Also noticeable is the custom made stainless on the roofline where it was converted to hardtop.

Yes this is where it will end up but its years away. Going to drive mine as a Hot Rod for a while.
I love the style of a 40's kustom.

Here is the '39 that I photo shopped. I would run chrome smoothies and Spiders.

Kustomrama is one of my favorite sites........"It looks like it is straight out of the little books and Watson's Bellflower shop, but Josie Celeste's 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is one of the new builds that hit the streets last year. Floyd De Boer's 1958 Pontiac served as inspiration for the build. What do you think? Did Celeste hit homerun with her car? More info and photos can be found on Kustomrama:" http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Josie_Celeste%27s_1957_Chevrolet

  13. Your inspiration files?

  14. Yes sir. :D Funny, when I got mine in '84 I wanted a convertible in the worst way. Now that I'm old, I'd rather it was a hard top so I could flake it....I'm not much of an out in the sun fan any more. Maybe that will change if I ever get it back on the road and get the wind back in my hair. LOL

  15. You could always do a removable hardtop. Problem solved!

Great Pontiac post. '59-'64 Ponchos are too kool. We just don't see enough of them in the real world.

  17. Ok, well now you got me thinking Sancho.....I can not be held responsible if a hardtop roof just happens to make it into my shop. LOL

  18. Saw this one at the 2016 GNRS.

Picture was taken sometime in the 60's in front of Gordy Brown's shop "House Of Customs". In front is David Sgambellone's Chev, and to the left is My 63 T-Bird, in the back row is a 64 Pontiac I was working on, Behind David's Car is Mike Carson's Truck "Old Pro" and to the far left behind My T-Bird is My Sectioned 51 Ford Coupe.

Picture of my Merc (before I owned it) at its first car show. You can tell that I didn't own it by all of the doors that are open. I wonder why the gas lid was open. LOL!

  28. The Merc has come a looooonnnnnngg way Mick! Not even recognizable as the same car.

I love the look of that panel painted '64 Sancho. I'm hoping to pull off something similar with mine, but in cranberry red. I can't make up my mind if the base color should be pearl white with cranberry panels or if the base should be cranberry and panels of some sort over that. I lean towards a cranberry base but haven't been able to work it out in my mind....yet.

I'm amused by Gordy's pic Mick posted....could be my house with a Chevy and a '64 Pontiac. Lol
