Don't know what happened but don't think we're gonna see him anymore. It got ugly and deleted.

I talk to him about once a week.
The car is coming together fast!
The front and rear suspension are pretty much wrapped up,and the car is standing on its own feet now.
Rear wheel openings are radiused (they built a cool little fixture that centres off the axle flange to lay out the cut line),and they are putting new floors in front to rear as we speak, last I heard.I believe the idea is to chuck all that heavy-gauge stamped steel out,and lighten the old girl up considerably with aluminum floor and firewall.
I'll try and steal some pics from Facebook and post me up to keep you guys up to date on this thing.
The car is too cool to let it just disappear this close to the finish line.:)

John also let me know yesterday that the front axle is returning to stock location, and the car will be run with the Southeast Gassers.
He made some calls about clutch stuff today, and has been in contact with Quain.

I wonder if the new group that's getting started in the Texas area had anything to do with his decision.

I believe those are the guys he will be running with, with occasional match race appearances, and trips to events like the Meltdown drags.

  17. The owner stated earlier that he was going after Steve Crooks 55 gasser. He will need WAY more than that!;)

I love that finish. Reminds me of the wear patterns on the grain chutes at work.

Thanks Andrew, but I'm pretty sure it won't be used now. We essentially started over completely. Wait until you see what James does with the inside.

Where did this white 56 Chevrolet originally come from? There used to be a similar looking car around here from the Edmonds area. It was for sale for a long time, locally and in various car sales mags. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

It's the same one Butch....same big stinking turd. I have a habit of buying junk and trying to turn them into gems.

Turning out very nice. Are the front wheels the new Indy mags 15x5"?
