Well I said I was done welding 3 shitty cars together to make 1 and spending my whole life straightening crushed panels but here we go. I've had a thing for Zephyrs for a while but they aren't cheap.
20170127_152126.jpg 20170127_152137.jpg But this one was. It was well on its way to full return to the earth but now she's getting a new home and once my 34 is done I'll start the reconstruction process. You should go buy stock in welding rods oxygen and aceytaline cause I'll be using a lot.

  4. Love it. There was a recent "body only" New Mexico find. 5k. Oh man, did I want that. Located one Nebraska frame, and "poof!" the body sold to "not me".

Good luck with this one. Can't wait for the rest of this story .....

    :)

Found these in the leaves near the car. Also found the passenger door and skirts. I'm still searching the area for the other door and hood. Hope I find them. Thanks for all the kind words guys.

Man that is rad. If anyone can bring that thing back from the clutches of mother earth it's you. You're doing the lords work down there in the Ocean State.

    Thanks buddy

The gentleman that sold me this gem was generous enough to give me this when I found it in a scrap pile.

Well it actually was just on Craigslist under parts haha. I couldn't believe it. He told me his father bought it when it was a couple years old with a blown up v12 in it. His dad put a flathead v8 in it and shipped it to Hawaii where he was stationed. When he got out of the Navy he shipped it to Cali, drove it to Mexico for an interior then drove it home to Connecticut. Then he just parked it and it sat in the same spot until it was dragged with a tractor to the spot I bought it. Still has a Hawaii plate on it.

I'm a 56 year old virgin when it comes to Zephyrs, but thanks at least in part to this site, I have developed quite a fascination with them. To say the least I will follow this with my upmost and erect attention. But please...be gentle.

Wow, that is so cool, that car has crossed the pacific ocean. How many Zephyrs can say that! Have you gotten it back to the shop yet? How much of it is going to get left on Rt 95?

Its coming to my actual house tomorrow morning. My wife is going to be thrilled haha. I went today to put it on wheels and hunt for missing parts. I strapped it together as best I could so too much won't blow away on the ride home. Its sorta half Lincoln and half compost

A solid complete Zephyr sedan would put miles ahead on saving it.

Note to self: Read C.L. for the parts ads! Great story, Adam!!! Thanks...

Just think...to Hawaii, then Calif.; then Tijuana, then out East! With a flathead V8, yet...
Hope you find all those cooool parts!

I'm not familiar with your abilities, but judging from the others comments, your up to the task. This will be fun to watch.

Your 100% right. Unfortunately alot of the cars I could even consider trying to afford are also missing quite a bit and also have rotted floors. I think Im gonna see what finds me as far as parts go but yeah a parts car would be really really helpful and more cost effective in the long run.

What I'm thinking right now is pretty straight forward. Just lower it with spring and crossmember mods to get that 40s low stance and a mild chop. I might not chop it though we'll see. If I do that'll be after it's all together and I can see how it sits.

    Lots of "play value" there.

I hope you give it some kind of Hawaiian-themed name.
