History LOST SPRINT CAR in CALIFORNIA 1952

Time to drive myself crazy again searching for a lost car. This is the last photo of a sprint car Lou Senter owned in California, the Ansen Special. That curved firewall should be the main clue in identifying it or any remains. I'd be happy with the chassis and body, or any other photos that may be out there. Bob

Bob is it running a v-8 60? And do you know around what years it was around? I have lately been searching for a vintage sprint car myself so I'm always looking. Can you fill us in with anymore ideas or know parts it ran. I will keep my eye out for it here in California for you. I search craigslist a lot. Also we have a old car museum in paso Robles California that has a lot of sprint cars. It's at the paso Robles air port. You can look it up on google and they have a web site. The guy that owns most of the cars there is an ol time sprint car racer. He has 2 drake motored sprint cars and was friends with drake. He might be someone to get in contact with. He's one of those knows everyone kind of guys.

Looks like a 60hp with ardun heads.

It's a sprinter for sure and looks like a flat head V8 with Thickstun finned head covers to me.

 

Thats not a v860 , its a big flathead with aluminum covers over the heads. This is a Sprint Car not a Midget.

 

I will keep eye's open for you at Turlock this weekend.....

 

I often wonder what happened to Bert Letner's "Elco Twin" Track Roadster, certainly looks like it in the background.

I believe those covers were used on marine applications to keep the wires/plugs Dry
I have a friend in NJ that has a set on his '32 cabrolet on a '48 Merc.

Kid I'll keep an eye out around here. not likely any part of it will show but if it does I'll let you know.

 

I'd wear one of those hats for a year to all the car events if it would help find the remains of the car. The last car I was looking for from California wound up in Virginia 40 years later, this one might be any were, but I think it's still in California. Bob
